One-Child Policy

  1. I can't comprehend this. I come from a family of five brothers and two sisters. (same mom & dad) My mom always had family around until she died. I'm glad the Chinese are allowing more kids into their environment.

    1. That's a huge family! Japanese families also tend to be quite small; I'm also an only child. It's nice though that G has two siblings . . . it's nice and lively when the whole family (+ partners) gets together for the holidays!

  2. bcas of that, my chinese friends will call their cousins brothers and sisters. initially when i was younger, i would be confused when they said my bro/sister did etc when it is obvious that they dun have siblings.

    1. Yes! That's actually the reason why we got confused in the first place, now that you mention it! He was talking about his "sister," and then we were like, "Do you have other siblings?" and he said it was his cousin. Confusing!
