Our Jjimjilbang Experience

After finishing my BA in the summer, G and I traveled to Japan and Korea. It was our first time in Seoul and we had a really great trip, and one of the most exciting parts of our stay was our trip to the jjimjilbang -- the public bathhouse! It was quite different from the sento/onsen in Japan, but we loved it and if we lived in Korea we would most defintely be regular jjimjilbangers! I was too lazy to draw everything we did at the bathhouse (it had 6 floors, including many kiln saunas, a cafeteria, nap rooms, table tennis rooms, so on and so forth), but the scrub was definitely the highlight.

  1. You are braver than I. I am so fat, I would be embarrassed to strip down, let alone be scrubbed down by someone else. BTW, I've never used a loofa in my life. Glad you had a great time. Looking forward to other adventures.

    1. It does take a bit of courage to get naked in front of other people, but I realized quickly that no one seems to care as much as you think they do! Also, not wearing your glasses helps because everything is blurry anyway and you go into the if-I-can't-see-them-they-can't-see-me mode. :P
