You should totally come to this cartoon school. Here it's ok to sketch and draw while you are at a party, leave the party without saying goodbye to anyone, not go to the party, etc. I was in the TV room stab binding my comics and a classmate was inking her comics while the rest of the class was watching for the Obama results.
I think I'm just generally an awkward party-goer to start with, but that sounds awesome! I'd feel pretty anti-social (but at the same time kind of like a weird attention-seeker) if I sketched and drew at a crowded party here (unless it was a party full of artists). Although I bet sketching at parties would be fun....lots of interesting subjects.
Yay for not-just-black-and-white comics!
Nah, don't worry. I avoid this gatherings. People say I'm too aloof. I just keep thinking "Why should I be drinking and talking about shoes when I could be READING IN BED. Or WRITING." So easy to understand in my opinion.
Maybe I've just gotten bad at socializing? Dunno. But yeah. I bet we'd have a pretty lame (read: awesome) party if all of the commenters agreeing with my comic got together for a party. I guess we'd just be sitting in a circle drinking and reading or drawing quietly or something.
I'm with you on this one. Especially the G&T bit.
Let me know if you guys come to London, I am a member of the London Gin Club, which is like SUPER AWESOME.
I really like this strip! The party looks so lively, and the grayscale colors makes it very interesting to the eye! It's the same with me, to some degree... Too much socializing makes me want to be alone and do geeky things. Don't feel bad about it =)
Thank you Jostein! I swear I used to be better at socializing! But sometimes all I want to do is katamari in bed. hahaha
