J/Y

I know, this is totally German Pronunciation 101, but it still catches me off guard sometimes . . .

  1. For jo/ja/ju/ji the Japanese よ・や・ゆ・(じ) is closer to the German than English though, or? So what about - Julia or Jana?
It took me a while to find a word in English with a "yo" sound to explain the pronunciation of my name.

    1. Yeah, but somehow I've been conditioned to think that J sounds like j in jazz and not like y for so long! Yeah...English word starting with "yo"...Yolk? Yogurt? haha

  2. I loved you "revelation" face haha
I've seen stereotypical european characters talking like that on tv shows, but I never thought it was true :p
