American Health Care

You might have noticed I'm not a very political person . . . but I thought public health care was a good thing?

Oh yes, and Happy 4th of July!

  1. I had the same reaction when I read the news. PLUS, the best part is to see people saying "I'm so pissed I'm going to move to Canada after that." Is like saying you're going to Hogwarts because you hate magic.

    1. Yeah, the Canada bit is especially weird. Good analogy there!

  4. I heard that too and imagined hordes of Americans who've misunderstood the Canadian health care system rushing over there...

  5. Ahh, thanks for shedding some light on that...I also tried to understand why it could be a bad thing (except for people who are really poor).

    1. I don't know if I actually shed any light on anything...but yes. It's kind of like, "Eh? People are actually hugely upset over this?"

  6. Only in America could obese people with heart disease and diabetes get mad about getting affordable health care.

"Uh the commies are comming to take all my monies, quick Mary-Lou, bring me my gun and my tin foil hat!"

    1. Whenever I travel to the states, I'm always reminded of how easily you could overeat unhealthy foods if you're not careful. I have so little self control when it comes to eating that I can easily see myself headed for heart disease and diabetes and being overweight. Baaah. Anyway, I guess we can't say much because we have our own messed up issues too...but still! Yay public health care!

  7. I can easily see how people end up like that, I just don't see, considering how easy it is to get unhealthy, why people would fight against healthcare that wouldn't break their bank, or how they could be against not losing their house in case they get cancer.
