I have a bad feeling about this
I had about 15 minutes to make this comic tonight, so I'm sorry for the quality...but I really wanted to draw about my day at the residence permit office yesterday. Have I mentioned I'm a ridiculously paranoid person? I worry and stress about everything, but it's especially bad when it comes to things like visas and official procedures. But yes. Everything turned out awesomely in the end, so hooray for four more years in Berlin!

Couply Profile Picture
We had this conversation a week or so ago. I actually finally changed my profile pic now so we both do have gross couply profile pics. Hooray.

You can take an Asian girl out of Asia...
In some regards, I'm just Asian through and through.
Aaaaand. It's still not too late! If you're in Berlin tonight, don't miss the chance to hang out with the amazingly talented (and supercuddly/friendly!) Dirk Verschure of Dirk's Big Bunny Blog and other cool cats of the Cheese Mountain Tragedy at the Book Release Party of Dirk's Big Bunny Book! Not only that, local brewery Vagabung Brauerei will also be debuting their superstrong Caffeinated Stout made from espresso prepared by Josh Bauman of Caffeinated Toothpaste. G and I will be there too, so be there or be square!

I refuse
Reminded me of a comic about not working for free by Alex of the wonderful comic Stuff No One Told Me.
So yes. Never, ever work for free, unless it's for very important friends or family.

I can speeks engrish
Where did I pick up all this? One time in high school I thought it would be funny to pronounce scissors "skissors," and it stuck until I asked someone at the office to pass me the "skissors." Yeah. Probably a sign that I should limit my purposely-bad English use.

How about these keywords
G is always trying to boost my readership. (Also, this comic just gave me an excuse to write use "penis" as a keyword.)
Also, a few people have been asking for more Mama comics. She was on holiday for a few weeks, but now she's back, and now I'm just waiting for her to make inappropriate comments.

Unfashionably Early
I've done this before when I went to a Pakistani engagement party . . . except being on time for that party meant that you were THREE hours early. So yeah. At least I was in the company of other clueless non-Pakistani friends.
But yeah. Our Japanese-German combination makes for unbeatable punctuality. Sometimes.

Dirk's Big Bunny Book Party
Also! I just wanted to let everyone know that the awesomely talented bunny tamer Dirk Verschure (fer sure! badum'ch) of Dirk's Big Bunny Blog is having a party to celebrate his first ever book, aptly titled Dirk's Big Bunny Book, which is a collection of the daily bunny comics he's been drawing for over a year. The party will be at the Cheese Mountain Tragedy Studio and Gallery in Kreuzberg, Berlin. Dirk will be there, Josh (of Caffeinated Toothpaste...and the comic from Saturday!) will be there, Johan (johanpotma.com) will be there, and G and I will be there too! There will also be some locally-brewed caffeinated beer, if that's your kind of thing, 'cause it's my kind of thing. Mmmm, caffein and alcohol!
Here's the link to the Facebook site with all the information as well: Dirks Book and Beer Release Party.
Hope to see you there!

I'm competitive about everything
And yes, I do realize G weighs 20kg more than I do and that I shouldn't be eating the same amount that he does . . . but still.

I need your input for the new comic!
Happy Sunday everyone!
I'd like to thank everyone who bought a copy of "The Idiot's Guide to Dining with an Asian Mother." I'm pretty much sold out (all but a few copies left) and have been overwhelmed by the positive response and kind words I've received. This has been pretty much the coolest experience ever, getting e-mails from readers, meeting new people, and sending out my comic to people all over the world. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support!
I'm thinking on making another minicomic before the fall (before I start school! Have I mentioned I'm going back to school? I'm going to art school for a BA in visual communication starting in October and I'm hugely excited), which is going to be a compilation of my and your favourite Bonsais.
So my question to you is . . . which ones are your favourites? It doesn't matter if it's old or new, stick figure or non-stick-figure, G with or without a nose...I'm thinking of including a little bit of everything. I'd just like some input from you guys so I can start narrowing down my choices and decide how big the booklet will be.
Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Arm Pit Culture Shock
Coming from a country where it's a crying shame to have any kind of body hair at all (even for men, at times), living in Germany is a relief.
