Bridget Something

My parents just got back from Japan, which means more Mama comics.

It also doesn't help that my mom never remembers the characters' names so instead refers to them as "that lawyer guy," "the pudgy main character," and "the womanizing boss" every time.

The Evil Umlauts Part 2

No matter how often I try to remember which one's which, I always start second guessing myself when it comes to actually using it. And end up not using it at all.

The Evil Umlauts Part 1

Everything looks more hardcore with an umlaut, apparently. This awesome Wiki article on the Metal Umlaut makes me want to watch This Is Spinal Tap again.

WG Parties Part 2

Continuation of WG Parties Part 1.

If I were Suse, I'd be pretty creeped out that some random person drew a comic about her.

Tofu Döner

I need to patent this, fast.

Also, this is G's little sister's Bonsai debut. Ha!

WG Parties Part 1

Being an anti-social recluse, I don't go out to parties that much but G's high school friends were in town so I mustered up my courage and ventured out into the city to be social (kind of) for once.

edit: Part 2 here.

Moo?

Shit. Better sharpen those pencils.

Valentine's Day 2012

I'm also a fan of globalization.

Happy Valentine's!

4PM

Handed in my portfolio yesterday, and waiting for results to come out at 4PM today.

The other three girls in my art class applying to fashion design and fine art were rejected. Blegh. Apparently their results were announced late last night.

Right. So while I'm not exactly holding my breath for it, I can't help but hope that one of the judges is a HUGE fan of stick figure comics. HAHAHA.

HAHA.

HA.

huh.

Clear Vision

I'm bitter because G has 20-20 vision and I don't. Hurumphnut.

I'm keeping my glasses close by just in case.

Octopussy

G is away and I filled my portfolio work quota of the day, so playing around with Photoshop alone at night. Reminds me of first year university.

Life Drawing

Soy Sauce Face VS Sauce Face

nb. The term "sauce" in Japanese generally refers to a thick, brown Japanese-style Worcestershire sauce.

Source: ソース顔、しょうゆ顔

And then I looked up what famous Japanese people represent team Shoyu and team Sauce.

Team Soy Sauce: actor Tadanobu Asano (Ichi the Killer,  Thor)
Team Sauce: actor Hiroshi Abe (Once in a Blue Moon)
I don't know what the point of all this was, but yes. I think I get it now.

On a more serious note, my first portfolio deadline is within a week. Still my first school (and one of the hardest to get into) this year so I'm not exactly holding my breath...

But I'd better get back to work.

Gah.

Purse-n'-Backpack

I'm not anyone to talk about fashion, but yeah. No matter how you do it, you look like a dork.

déjà-vu

Is it . . . can it be . . . it's a second post! Mostly because I'm tired of drawing tulips. And I just remembered this anecdote when I posted the previous entry.

And it's back to the tulips.

Same Birthday

This happens. EVERY single year.

Happy Birthday Steflon and Emily!

Takoyaki Part II

Making takoyaki again (see previous post The Takoyaking), but this time without my mom's help. I panicked when I couldn't find any octopus at the Galleria but eventually did get a hold of some frozen octopuses at a nearby Asian supermarket. (5 euros for a kilo, not bad at all!) The problem was, these ones weren't washed and boiled and prepared like the previous ones, so we had to do some google research on how one goes about boiling and preparing octopus. We had some squishy slimy fun.

Sorry for the bad quality, was in a bit of a hurry to get some things done.
