I don't think I remember doing this in the US, Canada, or Japan, whereas the majority of birthday parties I've been to in Germany are of this kind. Does anyone else do this?
Yeah, I think the "reinfeiern" concept kind of ignores the time you were born completely, as in the birthday is seen as the time between 0:00 to 24:00. I'm actually not sure what time I was born...
How do you pronounce "Reinfeiern"? Sounds like fun.

DeleteWhat if the person was born at 11:49pm of their birthday? I like when we count birthdays from the birth hour to the birth hour + 24 hours.

ReplyDeleteI can never ignore the time.... I was born at 5:45 PM and I am always like "tecnically I'm not XX years old yet..."
