Tissue Adverts

I was somehow reminded of this out of the blue.

Oh, free tissues. I miss them.

Please kindly

So it looks like the Japanese part of our film festival might not be happening after all, due to the apparently arbitrary rejection of some legal application. Or something. I don't know the nitty gritty details  (and I don't really want to), but the end result: the Japanese program has to go.

But hey, misery is funny, right? I think the best humor comes out of shitty things that happen, although I prefer them to be happening to someone else . . .

Not the end of the world. But it sucks! Booo!

Depressing Documentary Film Festival

The Pigs in Maputo entry about depressing documentary films reminded me of a conversation I had with G the other day.

Painting on Porcelain

It's still Tuesday in my head, so this counts as a Tuesday entry!

I had a really long and stressful day today that involved riding in an ambulance for the first time in my life and spending a few hours in the psychiatric ward of a large hospital, also for the first time in my life (and neither for myself, fortunately).

I'm still a bit restless and unable to sleep, and the only cure is lolcats.

Basically, I want a 5-plate set of the "invisible series." ie. Like this, but just the kitteh alone:

lol!

Three Dreams

I had a lot of weird dreams this weekend.

They're all almost normal.

Grinding Teeth

My dentist told me a few years ago that I grind my teeth, so I usually wear a night guard to keep myself from destroying my teeth. This is apparently what it sounds like when I don't wear my night guard.

Ok, I understand mills, but galloping horses?

Flash Pan Hunter

I love Tom Waits. But I am never listening to his creepy songs while running in the dark again.

Heebie-jeebies, I'm telling you.

(And thanks T for your feedback!)

Cultural Retard

I don't know what people hope to achieve when they touch stuff in museums when they're not supposed to, but this is what I feel like doing when I see them:

Yeah.
