I can speeks engrish

Where did I pick up all this? One time in high school I thought it would be funny to pronounce scissors "skissors," and it stuck until I asked someone at the office to pass me the "skissors." Yeah. Probably a sign that I should limit my purposely-bad English use.

  1. Iris and I know a serbian guy that has the awesomest accent ever... we imitate his accent and lingo ALL the time. Hint: "Penis" is a verb.

  2. Yikes! I do this all the time hah... its a constant between my mate and I to be silly and pronounce things wrong. Though I am pretty sure when we do it out in public people think we are ridiculous. But we are, so I guess that's OK.

  3. Kimio and I do this all the time. And we totally understand what the other person is saying...and our parents think we're retarded.

  4. Tumblr has done that to me. I mean, when I read an awesome book and I say "all the feels", people generally fail to understand that I meant to say it wrong. It happens in Portuguese, too, people outside internet don't understand that I say things wrong on purpose.

    1. oh yeah the outside internet people. At a work thing the other day I found out one of our prospects is called Spartacus with his given name (how awesome is that???) So I said to my colleage that I wonder if he ever picked up the phone with "This is Sparta!". Got me a round of blank stares.

    2. Wait, wait, what's "all the feels"? I've actually never really used/commented on Tumblr so I'm behind on all this lingo! Waah!
Oh yeah. And I literal lol'd at "This is Sparta!" HAHAHAA. Brilliant name.

  5. Yup, I do that too. My girlfriend and I use english a lot of the time, and most of the time badly from my part. And it has become so natural, that when I have to speak purely Norwegian, I regularly get stumped and have to stop to look for words... It's a little different I guess, but hopefully not entirely off topic.

Anyway, I'm somewhat of a fanatic for correct spelling and grammar, but I still find purposely bad English very amusing! I learned it off the internets! :)

    1. Is your girlfriend Norwegian too, or is she from somewhere else? G has been picking up my bad habits, so I think I really have to watch it. But yes. I'm blaming it all on the internets!

    2. Oh, she's Norwegian too :) Sorry if it was confusing. Switching rapidly and often between English and Norwegian is just a habit of ours… Maybe it's influenced by English/American entertainment, or our experience as exchange students… I don't know :)

    2. Cheezburgerish and Welsh have a lot of touch points. I knows it. Wtch Gavin and Stacey for reference.
