Japanese and Bread

Leaving Japan made me realize that this is kind of strange...

  2. My four sons were all white bread afficiandos through and through. Funny though, when they grew up, they all prefer a good bread with a nice crust. The only time I want white bread is when we are making "hillbilly hot dogs", aka fried bologna sandwiches. The rest of the meal includes baked cheetos and orange Crush.

    1. Hillbilly hot dogs?!!! Oh my god! That sounds amazing. And baked cheetos!! I've never heard of any of these things but I'm so intrigued!!

  3. I love your two latest bread comics!

    That being said, I have a hard time eating shokupan. I /have/ to toast it because otherwise all the white and fluffy is pretty disgusting for my dark, seed-filled bread loving self. I never, ever bought (white) toast in Germany because I thought that was too fluffy / lacking substance already - and as you know, it really can't compare to shokupan, haha.

    1. Thanks Kerstin! Yeah, I don't know how real German-bread-fans would survive in Japan...you just can't get any there! A few friends of mine are really curious to try it now that I've told them about it, but I don't think they'd want to eat it all the time. Tough country for bread lovers!

  4. Heh,I once bought toast in Spain without really checking the package and realized at home they have toast without crust!
