Lebensabschnittsgefährtin

G insists that I write that he does not use or like either of the words. Just so you know.

  1. I think "Baby" sounds so much more friendly. "Lebensabschnittsgefährtin" sounds like a bodily function...

  2. Haha, poor G had to insist on a disclaimer again *pats shoulder*
I think the most common ones within my circle of friends are Schatz and Liebling ... kinda boring but doing the job. But then most of the ladies would cause bodily harm when being called baby or something overly sweet like Perle or Schnuckelchen, ew.
Lebensabschnittsgefährtin is a pretty horrible word anyways XD And I still think it should be used only in retrospect ("My LAG at that time blablabla") and not for the presence.

    1. Yeah, I guess Schatz is the best German alternative, but it's still pretty awful! (But it's probably just me -- I just can't do pet names :P) Sometimes I call G "Schnuckelputz" just to annoy him. It's such a cute-sounding word though! If I had a cute round pet (like a wombat or a hedgehog) I'd want to call it Schnuckelputz...
