My hair's never been long enough to do that....maybe I'm jealous? They sell some hair stuff (ie. a big donut-like thing covered with velcro) that helps you make perfect buns....maybe you need one of those! haha!
I don't remember seeing so many people with buns when I first got here, but suddenly...they're everywhere! They've been popular in Japan for ages and I was so sick of seeing them (although fascinated by them at the same time), but now they're heeeere! Kind of like the bubble tea rage that's been sweeping through Berlin for the past year or so.
And you're so right. Buddha buns should be a food. If it makes you feel better, buns are called "odango" in Japanese...which is "round rice cake"? mmmm hairy rice cake.
My hair doesn't allow me to do that.... but I think it looks so cool!

DeleteIt's so done. If everyone in the same age bracket and teachers over 80 have the same hairdo, it's time to move on.
ReplyDeletePS: when I saw the title, I hoped this would be about delicious Japanese baked goods. Little bit disappointed.

I'm not a fan, but the epidemic is all over TO too ;)
