Going to the Store

Also. HAVE YOU SEEN THIS? This may be the most brilliant thing ever. (All right, so I say that a lot, but still.)

Sorry if you found it creepy. I find it kind of creependearing. More about the creator David Lewandowski here.

Spring Clean

Ack! I missed a day again! Blargh. I'll try to do a double update today (one more later on in the day) to make up for it.

Ooh, we got tickets for Brecht's Die Dreigroschenoper today. My first Brecht, ever! Definitely am going to need to do some pre-reading and researching so I'm not completely confused. So exciting!

I've actually been on a pretty good streak comic-wise. I've been good about actively collecting comic material. The thing is, I write things down on random pieces of paper---electronics manuals, U-bahn tickets, corners of homework handouts, inside of textbooks, backs of supermarket receipts---so I often don't find my notes until I start cleaning out my bag or my room:

It's like finding money you hid in your room and forgot about. Awesome!

Something Awesome

I've recently discovered the blog 1000 Awesome Things through a friend, and have been slowly going through the list of awesome. If I had to add one to the list, I would say:

I often check my mailbox as I leave the apartment and take the contents along with me so I can read them on the go. For some reason, postcards and letters feel much more special when I'm reading them in the train or during short coffee breaks or sitting outside waiting to meet somebody.

And. I can show off the fact that I have awesome old-school friends who still send postcards. Ha!

Basically, I'm just a show-off.

Happy International Day of Awesomeness!

Tortilla Schmortilla

Today has been a day of accomplishments. I saw the Colour Fields exhibition at the Deutsche Guggenheim with R, found bio deodorant for Z, and made Spanish tortilla for dinner using Juanito's recipe (and successfully!). The sunny, (relatively) warm weather was just the cherry on top. Absolutely fantastic.

Now back to work on that translation.
