Cupcake

  1. When my bride and I moved into our house in 1994, a couple of new neighbors brought cupcakes to us, welcoming us into the neighborhood. Very sweet. They were our very best neighbors.

    1. That's so sweet! The traditional (kind of) Japanese custom is to bring soaps/towels to your neighbors when you move in. It might be kind of a dated custom though...I'm not sure if many people do that nowadays, but my mom did make me go buy towels and bring them around to about 3 of my neighbors in my apartment building when I moved back to Tokyo as an adult!

  2. Cuuuuupcakes <3
Around here people don't hand in cupcakes (or anything). This is very sad because I'm crazy over cupcakes. Can I work where you do to have nice neighbors who hand cupcakes, too?

    1. Well it was really nice of them...but the cupcake was pretty bad. It kind of tasted like really bland, dense cake with sparkly toppings and glazing. It still did lift my mood though!
