Sauna

So...I've finally started sketching stuff for my Master thesis project, a graphic novel about my month-long bike trip in Brandenburg. My trip to the sauna is one of my favorite anecdotes, so I figured I'd test the water with this one. I'll probably more post thesis-related things from now on, so bear with me until...uh, April!

Brandenburg

As I've mentioned in a few previous comics, I am going on a month-long solo bike trip in the state of Brandenburg in a few weeks. I made this comic today as part of a second round of inquiries I am sending out to look for people to meet and interview during my my trip. For a lack of a normal comic I am posting this here, but if you happen to know someone in Brandenburg...please send them my way: horibe (at) gmail.com! It would be great to have a  couple more interesting contacts.

Association

Ah! I forgot to mention that we were travelling with our friend C, who is also German. I spoke an even funkier form of Denglish during our trip than usual...

Cake

In the end, it turned out all right, but I don't think I need to do that again any time in the near future.

The Tissue Issue

Happy New Year! As you can see, my year has already begun with fascinating observations.

Radler Doesn't Count

Radler is a beer mixed with sparkling lemonade (50-50), so it doesn't reeaaaally count as alcohol, does it? Ahem. Anyway, this comic is old...because G and I have long since abandoned our alcohol-free-May challenge. So much for will power. The weather's been too nice to not sit outside for a nice, cold Bierchen.

Also, I'm sure you've noticed that I'm trying to draw myself a bit differently now. I've always worn glasses but I've been too lazy to draw them, and I'm also growing out my hair -- so yes, I'm trying something new!

The Process of Learning German - by Tze-Ting Chao!

I've had a ridiculously hectic month, so Tze -- the Dutch-Chinese author (living in Frankfurt) of the awesome Meh Blog -- is helping me out with a guest comic! Thanks Tze! She has also recently taken the brave step of leaving her 9-to-5 job to pursue comics, and you can support her on her Patreon website!

The hecticness is over so I'll resume comics tomorrow.
