Reinfeiern

I don't think I remember doing this in the US, Canada, or Japan, whereas the majority of birthday parties I've been to in Germany are of this kind. Does anyone else do this?

  1. How do you pronounce "Reinfeiern"? Sounds like fun.

    1. it's kind of like "rye-n fire-n". (the "ei" in German is like "eye") :)

  2. What if the person was born at 11:49pm of their birthday? I like when we count birthdays from the birth hour to the birth hour + 24 hours.

    1. Yeah, I think the "reinfeiern" concept kind of ignores the time you were born completely, as in the birthday is seen as the time between 0:00 to 24:00. I'm actually not sure what time I was born...

  3. I can never ignore the time.... I was born at 5:45 PM and I am always like "tecnically I'm not XX years old yet..."
